KIMBERLEY FORTIN

Emerging Graduate Researcher

Kimberley Fortin is a graduate student at Toronto Met University in the Master of Professional Communication program. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Communications Management from Royal Roads University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development Studies and African Studies from McGill University.

As a Research Assistant for the Explanatory Journalism Impact and Uptake (XJO) project, she is working with Dr. Jessica Mudry to research the ways in which data visualization presents itself in The Conversation Canada. Kimberley is also interested in social media research, and her masters research paper focuses on how non-profit organizations use Twitter to communicate with their audiences. Professionally she has worked in public affairs and marketing for over 7 years in Central Asia at a newly launched non-profit research university.
