Consultations

TMU community members talking in the SLC.

Creating an equitable, inclusive and respectful environment is a goal and collective responsibility at TMU shared by all students, faculty, contract lecturers, staff and community members. As part of the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy Review, we invite TMU community members to provide feedback on the proposed updates to the policy. All voices, concerns, and questions are valued and welcomed.

Updates on the consultation process

Phase one of the Policy review was completed in fall 2024, through feedback sessions with students, student unions and groups, as well as faculty, contract lecturer and staff unions. These engagements generated a diverse range of ideas that informed the working draft of the revised Policy.

Phase two invited community members to review the summary of proposed changes to the Policy and share feedback through an online survey, tabling sessions held at the Student Learning Centre and feedback sessions. This phase was completed throughout February and March 2025.

The draft Policy and Procedures

In Phase three, community members were invited to give feedback on the draft Policy and Procedures by survey which can be accessed through the university’s Administrative Policies webpage.

A  (google doc) Summary of Proposed Changes (external link)  has been provided for your reference.

The Policy review team will submit the revised Policy to the Board of Governors for approval in June 2025.
