Supervisors Actively Recruiting Students/Applicants for Research Opportunities
*NEW* Fall 2025 Faculty of Science Advancing Women in STEM Graduate Entrance Scholarship
This scholarship supports women embarking on MASc or PhD studies in Environmental Applied Science and Management under the supervision of a Faculty of Science faculty member. These $10,000 entrance scholarships will be allocated to the first year of study in addition to any scholarship/award/stipend/research assistantship made as part of your admissions offer to the program.
We hope that this scholarship will encourage excellent female-identifying students to apply (and accept admission) to graduate studies by providing financial support and empowering the next generation of leaders in STEM.
All women applying to the Environmental Applied Science and Management program proposing supervision by a faculty member in the Faculty of Science will be automatically considered for the entrance scholarship, with no additional application process.

Critical energy policy, environmental justice, and climate justice | The successful applicant will be a doctoral student who will work with a larger interdisciplinary team of researchers and students in a project led by the University of Toronto, with participation from several universities across Canada, (including McMaster University and Toronto Metropolitan University), to develop innovative, socially informed energy storage solutions to help Canada advance towards its goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. The qualified applicant will have (1) qualitative methods skills (including the ability to analyze interview and focus group data and (2) an interest in critical energy policy. |

Potential areas of focus include: advancing our understanding of the water sources and flow pathways that contribute to urban streamflow, and their role in stream water quality patterns; characterizing the time scales of urban water transport using modern isotopic methods; and comparing the hydrological and water quality signatures of urban watersheds across Canada and the United States.
