Pitch Black (Grade 9)

Every year, Toronto Metropolitan University Engineering Ambassadors are proud to visit Grade 9 science classes across the GTA to introduce students to Pitch Black, an engaging hands-on activity that encourages them to consider an impactful career in engineering. Students will be asked to work in teams to use a breadboard, resistors, and LEDS to build an electric circuit from a schematic diagram, which represents a community in a blackout. The students will act as the engineers who have been called to use their knowledge of electricity to troubleshoot the circuit and restore power to the community. Our Engineering Ambassadors will walk students through the steps while also sharing their experiences as Toronto Metropolitan University Engineering undergraduates and answering any questions that students may have.
