Design Teams

Design teams at FEAS offer exciting, fun opportunities to apply your knowledge in the real world. They also give you the chance to travel to destinations in Canada and around the globe, meet new people, and compete against other schools.

To start your own engineering design team, follow the instructions as outlined on the Metropolitan University Engineering Society (MUES) website (external link) . For architecture design teams, contact the Toronto Metropolitan Architecture Student Society (arc.soc) (external link)  through their website.

Canadian National Concrete Canoe Team

Members of this multi-disciplinary team design and build a canoe made of concrete, which is put to the test at an annual inter-university competition.

CANSAT

This team focuses on designing, building and launching a CanSat, which is a simulation of a real satellite integrated within a container similar in size to a soft drink can.

With an emphasis on creativity and innovation, this team designs and builds a safe, high-performing, sustainable toboggan, which it enters into competition at an annual race.

TMU Aero Design

Formed originally in 1986, this team is all about designing, building and flying radio-controlled aircraft for the Society of Automotive Engineers’ Aero Design Series, a competition held annually in the U.S.
