Careers & Co-op
During your program, you’ll probably start thinking about how to prepare for a career. Co-op is a great way to gain work experience in your field before you graduate. The university also provides career planning resources to help you plan your path.
Optional Co-op Program
If you’re still in the first year of your program, there’s still time to apply for co-op. Check out the basics:
Programs Available: All three programs offer an optional co-op stream: Biology, Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry
Benefits of Co-op: Embed paid, full-time, real-world work experience into your degree program. Build a professional network. Explore different roles and employers to find out what you enjoy most.
Program Length: Co-op adds one extra year to your program
Work/Study Terms: You’ll work up to 20 months full-time, with work terms typically lasting 16 weeks each.
When to Apply: In Spring following first year. The Toronto Met Career & Co-op Centre website provides specific dates..
