BMO Lab

The BMO Newcomer Workforce Integration Lab is a specialized research lab through which CERC Migration conducts the majority of its research on labour migration.

The Lab conducts research, synthesizes data, and develops tools of evidence-based actionable recommendations for businesses to use in their practices of recruitment, hiring and onboarding so that they may better leverage the skills and talents of newcomers to Canada.

The BMO Newcomer Workforce Integration Lab is led by Lab director Marshia Akbar. The project enjoys an arms-length association with BMO Financial, which is providing a test bed for research and an avenue for dissemination of knowledge outcomes.
