On May 6, CERC in Migration and Integration program hosted a webinar to investigate the extraordinary challenges that migrant populations faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
International experts, and contributors to the blog Pandemic Borders (external link) , shared their perspectives on the rapidly unfolding conditions facing vulnerable residents and workers at and within national borders.
Our first webinar focused on essential migrant workers, their foundational role to sectors like health care, agriculture and food processing, and how they can be supported.
This webinar features short talks, followed by audience Q&A. Speakers include:
- Dr. Audrey Macklin (University of Toronto) (Article posted May 6)
- Dr. Margaret Walton-Roberts (Wilfrid Laurier University) READ ARTICLE (external link)
- Dr. Letizia Palumbo (European University Institute) READ ARTICLE (external link)
