
Georgiana Mathurin
Georgiana Mathurin (she/her) is a PhD candidate and a graduate student researcher. She holds an MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies and Early Childhood Studies from TMU. She is passionate about immigrants with precarious migration status, specifically Black women and mothers. Georgiana is also passionate about contributing to policy recommendations on Canada's regularization public policies to regularize migrants' status. In 2023, Georgiana was awarded the Viola Desmond Award for her exemplary role as a leader in the Black community at Toronto Metropolitan University and the broader community.
