Politics of Global Migration and Inequality
Migration is a phenomenon that reflects global inequalities, as millions move seeking a better life elsewhere. Global and national governance of migration can either reinforce or redress inequalities in access to mobility, rights, resources, and protection. This course examines the social politics of migration in global perspective. It provides an overview of global migration trends, with emphasis on migration governance, human rights, transnationalism, and social policy innovations to mitigate intersecting forms of inequality.
