Anatomy of Movement and Lifestyle I

This course will cover the basic anatomy of the human body and physiology related to posture and body mechanics required for the dancer/performer. Students will learn the theory and practice of postural alignment, muscular synergy, breathing, movement principles, and injury prevention. Stress management, mind-body-heart connection, holistic nutrition, and other topics related to health promotion will also be introduced. Students will apply class learning and experiential research to develop a holistic care program.
