Global Performance History II
This introductory course surveys the development of performance during the 19th and 20th centuries to today by exploring theatrical forms and styles, individual plays, playwrights, designers, choreographers, dancers, and dances. The aim is to consider the influences on performance from different cultural, social, political, and economic contexts. Students will develop their ability to engage with multiple performative styles, grapple with historical texts, and learn how to make connections between techniques, forms, and audiences.
