Climate Change Communication

What role do words have in climate change? This course untangles this question with a focus on the corporate communication of climate change (CSR, ESG, etc.), the public relations of environmental organizations, critical analysis of greenwashing and of climate change denialism informed by theories of environmental racism, queer theory, disability theory, and anti-colonial scholarship. This course further unpacks the role of narrative and storytelling in the face of climate change, specifically in the form of art, literature, documentary film, and podcasting.
