Contemporary Art: Concepts and Theories
This lecture course introduces key concepts and theories that animate contemporary art, providing a foundation for students embarking upon their studies in the creative
industries. It offers theoretical, historical, and cross-disciplinary perspectives, including
the politics of race, gender, and anti-colonial movements. Topics such as materiality,
technology, ethics, appropriation, participation, and time are addressed while thinking
through the potentials and limits of various media and practices.
