Cultural Context of Writing
Intended for students who need to improve their writing skills in Spanish, this course will study five major modes of writing: description, narration, exposition, argumentation and academic discourse. Students will engage in the in-depth analysis of texts from various sources: Spanish and Latin-American literature, journalistic writing, advertising, scholarly articles, etc. The course is structured in such a way as to help students understand the cultural complexity of the relationship between the writer and the intended reader. The language of instruction is Spanish.
