Shopping and Society
Shopping is a ubiquitous, inescapable part of everyday life. This ordinary activity has a pervasive, significant influence on our lives, our communities, our culture and society. Utilizing a socio-cultural lens, this course provides an overview of the historical and socio-cultural development of shopping places, shoppers’ identities, consumption patterns and behaviours.
