Women and Comparative Politics
How much power do women have in politics? This course explores women’s access to political power in a comparative context with Canada. Questions of representation and equity in politics, particularly in legislatures, political parties, and electoral systems, are examined. The course also assesses how gender influences voter choice, political ambition, and violence and harassment in politics globally. Intersectional factors such as race, Indigeneity, religion, immigrant status, and sexual orientation are considered. (Comparative)
