Advanced Nutrition and Metabolism

Students will learn about the essential functions of micronutrients in the metabolic pathways and their impact on the development and maintenance of human cells and tissues with an emphasis on blood, bone and nervous tissues. The course will focus on the impact of nutrient deficiencies and alterations in the metabolic pathways on human health and disease including the role of metabolic indicators for nutritional assessment and dietary intervention.
