Introduction to Indigenous Worldviews

An introduction to Indigenous worldviews in Canada with reference to Indigenous worldviews globally. Students will be introduced to Indigenous perspectives, values and spirituality. It includes an exploration of what constitutes "valid" knowledge, how knowledge shapes identity and how it influences the lives of Indigenous Peoples today. The role of worldviews as the basis of social justice and transformative change with the message that Indigenous knowledges can be of value to all people of the world.
