Therapeutic Foundations
This course is an introduction to the therapeutic philosophies and foundational processes of child and youth care practice. The student will gain knowledge of the language, theories and practices involved in the change process. Emphasis is placed on critical analysis, evidence-based as well as reflective practice, relative to the values, beliefs and assumptions of the student as well as the children, youth and families being served and how this informs professional practice.
