  • MPI 503 - Technology for Integrated Digital Arts I
    Course DescriptionThis course expands student knowledge related to digital media design and augment their technical skill set. Approaches to advanced digital text and graphic design will be covered exploring in 2D, 3D, and time-based applications. Emphasis is placed on fundamental design skills and design thinking.

  • MPI 601 - Production II
    Course DescriptionThis course extends the exploration of hybrid and digital media, at an advanced level, incorporating both theoretical and practical considerations. The primary focus is on taking digital content and bringing it into the physical realm in the form of an installation, interactive experience, performance, or physical prototype.

  • MPI 602 - Media Languages: Old and New Vocabularies
    Course DescriptionThis course uncovers the deep time of analog and digital communication media by examining the technical, symbolic and social codes that constitute their production and use in contemporary visual culture. Key developments in media are examined in order to understand critical and historical issues associated with them. Emphasis is placed on how visual, aural, verbal, and nonverbal forms govern the construction of media artifacts.

The distribution of hybrid media content through various digital platforms, as well as in physical space, will be explored with an emphasis on developing engaging user experiences and effective user interaction.

  • MPI 71A/B - Senior Thesis
    Course DescriptionThis course focuses on the production of an extended digital-media project. The critique and public display of this senior project is an integral and mandatory part of the process.
