Visual Culture Industries

This course examines the industries that form part of the creation, presentation, and promotion of visual culture since the nineteenth century which includes the visual history of those industries (photography, film, television, advertising, and digital media), as well as their social and cultural impact on racial and gendered identities. Visual Culture Industries will expose students to the role of visual culture in the creation and reception of traditional and digital content in a globalized world.
