Data Management

This course addresses the gathering of data, its aggregation, description, and presentation. Topics include measures of central tendency (geometric and arithmetic means, mode and median, standard deviation, standard error and confidence limits and error bars). Other descriptive processes include bar charts, scatter plots, stem-and-leaf diagrams, and an introduction to the use of spreadsheets and cross-tabulations ('pivot tables').
