The Idea of Photography
This course focuses on selected 20th and 21st century ideas that have made important contributions to modern, post-modern, and post-photographic understandings of culture. The course critically examines theories of image making from historical and contemporary perspectives. Interpretation and analysis of photographic imagery and language are carried out in relation to a range of critical, cultural, aesthetic, social, and technological contexts. (Formerly first half of MPS26AB).
