Practicum
Practicum project/exercise to be directly related to health information management. The practicum is the capstone course of the Health Information Management program, and provides the opportunity to apply management theory and concepts in a working environment which is specific to health information services delivery. Students evaluate and analyze onsite management issues within the context of their understanding of organizational systems. A pre-arranged number of hours, per week, will be spent over a negotiated time period in a setting other than their own work setting, although it may be in the same organization. Supervision will be provided by on-site preceptors. This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
