Women, Power and Politics
Have women come a long way? What is feminism? How do racial minority, aboriginal, immigrant, or lesbian women differ in the way in which they prioritize political and social issues? What about the impact of religion, class and disability? This course examines public policies in Canada and elsewhere relating to women and work (the "glass ceiling", gender segregated labour force, domestic labour), sexuality (harassment, violence), health (reproductive technology), family, and political representation.
