HTL 101
Lodging Industry and Organization
This course offers an introduction to the lodging industry. Students will become familiar with the major segments within the accommodation industry and also with the organizational structure of hotels. The students will also be familiarized with some key metrics of room statistics and hotel performance measurement. The concepts of chain affiliation, management contract, the stages of the guest cycle, and the management of the front office, housekeeping, and engineering and maintenance departments will be emphasized.
