Students
Following an applicant’s formal admission to a Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) program, they’ll be converted to student status and will be able to create a TMU username and student email address based on the timelines listed below.
Undergraduate, graduate and Lincoln Alexander Law School students
Undergraduate, Graduate and Faculty of Law applicants who have been formally admitted to the university will convert to student status according to the following timelines:

Once your account has been converted to a student account, you will be prompted to create a TMU username and set-up your student email address (name@torontomu.ca) through the my.torontomu portal the next time you log in. Following their creation, all official university communications will be sent to your student email address so remember to check it frequently!
G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education students
Within 24 hours of registering for a course, new Chang School students will receive an email confirming their TMU student number and instructions for completing the Online Identity Activation form. As part of this activation, students will create a username and student email address. Once activated, students are able to log into the my.torontomu portal and access online courses and services.
Troubleshooting activation issues
Once you’ve begun the activation process, immediate solutions to common issues can be found by clicking the “Online Identity Activation FAQs” link at the bottom of the activation form.
After completing the form, please allow up to 24 hours for your online identity to be created before signing in.
