Documentation at a Glance
The TMU Disability Assessment Form (DAF) is the most commonly used documentation for a broad range of disability types including:
- Mental health and chronic health conditions
- ADHD and autism
- Vision- and hearing-related impairments and disabilities,
- Physical, and mobility disabilities
- Brain injuries and concussions
Please note that the DAF is not sufficient documentation for Learning Disabilities.
For more information on what documentation you need, who can complete it, and other important details, check out the AAS Documentation Requirements webpage.
2. Submit your intake form & documentation
There are two options for registering with AAS - the Traditional Registration Option (TRO) and the Express Registration Option (ERO). Each option has it's own different online intake form that you complete.
What's the difference between ERO and TRO?
TRO is best suited for students who would like to attend a virtual registration appointment with a Student Accommodation Facilitator to ask questions and discuss concerns
ERO offers students a remote and expedited way for AAS to develop and approve an academic accommodation plan.

Traditional Registration Option (TRO)
TRO is for students who would like a virtual registration appointment with a Student Accommodation Facilitator.
During your appointment, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns in detail. Your accommodation plan will be created after the appointment.
Wait times for an appointment and accommodation plan are approximately 1-3 weeks. This may be longer during high volume times.
Express Registration Option (ERO)
ERO is for students who do not require a registration appointment with a Student Accommodation Facilitator.
With this option, you will be assigned a Student Accommodation Facilitator, but will only meet if you request an appointment.
This option provides the opportunity to receive an accommodation plan within approximately 5-7 business days of the submission of a complete Intake Form including appropriate documentation.
3. Monitor your inbox for next steps
Depending on the registration option you chose, you will receive a specific email outlining your next steps.
Chose the TRO intake form? We'll email you about booking your registration appointment.
Chose the ERO intake form? We'll email you with information about your accommodation plan.
