Sizhe Chen
BIO
Sizhe Chen has graduated from McMaster University with Bachelors degree in Honours Biology. Throughout her academic years, she has acquired extensive knowledge on the scientific and health field. Aside from her academics, art has always been an inseparable part of her life. Sizhe has served as a graphic designer for the medical humanities initiative The Muse, Rare Disease Organization’s digital publications, and a clinical psychologists clinic website. These experiences served as not only opportunities for artistic practice, but have also helped her develop a passion for storytelling and equity in the healthcare field.
When it comes to story-telling, art can be a simple, yet clear and strong form of communication. As a media research assistant for the Colour of Birth project, Sizhe looks forward to working with the team to deliver the many experiences of racialized midwives and help paint a picture to better understand history in this field.
