Emily McPherson
Bio
Emily has joined the CMOC team as a history research assistant. She is a recent graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Master of Human Rights program in 2021, as well as a graduate of the University of New Brunswick with a MA in History in 2019 and a BA in Honour’s history in 2017. She has focused her academic work on public memory and memorialization with a focus on the historical period following the Second World War. Recently, Emily has begun to focus more of her personal academic and professional interests on Canadian historical research, she completed a major research project focused on disability and human rights in Manitoba. She is eager to highlight the lives and impact of midwives of colour throughout Canada and excited to be a part of the CMOC team.
