Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies: Call for Special Issue proposals

The Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies (external link) invites proposals for Special Issues. Special Issue proposals must be up to 5,000 words long and include:
- A short conceptual, empirical, methodological rationale, explaining the following:
- Why propose this Special Issue?
- What does it add to the literature?
- Why the selected papers/case studies/approaches?
- How is the Special Issue more than the sum of its parts?
- Paper abstracts
- Biographical notes of contributors (max 100 words)
- Biographical notes of guest editor(s) (max 200 words)
Special Issues are expected to include 7-8 article contributions and a substantial Special Issue introduction. Articles should be approximately 8,000 words long all included (references, notes etc).
Proposals must be submitted by email to the attention of Irina Isaakyan at: jirs.journal@torontomu.ca by February 15, 2025, at 12 PM EST.
Applicants will be notified about the results of the Call by mid April 2025. Selected Special Issue proposals should be ready for submission for peer review through Scholar One by the end of 2025.
