Call for Papers- Migration Working Group
CERC Migration invites paper abstract submissions for the sixth season of its Migration Working Group. The series provides researchers with the opportunity to present new and ongoing projects, learn about each other’s work and share feedback. We invite submissions of work in progress from authors who can benefit from the opportunity to present and discuss work with an interdisciplinary group of scholars and graduate students.
Our Migration Working Group sessions will be held every last Tuesday of the month, starting September 2024 and running until May 2025.
Submissions must be received no later than June 3, 2024.
Applications require:
- Keywords,
- A paper abstract (approx. 400 words) outlining your research question, methodology and expected findings,
- A 300-word biographical note.
You will be notified about the acceptance and scheduling of your paper by mid July 2024. Selected papers are grouped by theme, and you will be notified which month you will be presenting your paper.
We welcome papers with both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches that relate to any of our thematic areas or that focus on issues of data and methodology.
Please note that draft papers are required to be submitted two weeks in advance of your session so that we can share the papers with attendees prior to the working group. Draft papers can be in any stage of progress and will include a note to not be shared or cited without the author’s permission. The Migration Working Group meetings will take place as either a fully in-person event or in a hybrid format. Presenters should plan to attend their respective session in person.
CERC Migration is able to provide travel support for presenters residing outside of Greater Toronto Area:
- Within Ontario: $300
- Canada/International: $500
