A collection of personal stories and the policy change they inspire
While their challenges may be many, migrants demonstrate, time and again, their ingenuity and resilience as they establish a new homeland. Yet their on-the-ground experience is often unnoticed or misunderstood.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the most significant global crises of the past 100 years, our team of researchers and Migration Matters set out to learn from migrants directly on how they have been faring through the pandemic, and what insights can be shared across divergent countries to inform the policy change that could improve their conditions. From a Chilean home-school tutor in Oakland, California, to a Bangladeshi quality controller living in Singapore, we have uncovered stories that give voice to the everyday reality of migrants around the world.
Digital library
Migrant Lives is now a one-of-a-kind digital library of stories that will be an important resource for policymakers, senior academics, emerging scholars, advocates and all those interested in the migrant condition around the world. The platform launched on October 28, 2021.
