Dorothy Wang

Dorothy Wang is an MFA student in Documentary Media at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a BA in Communication from the University of Science and Technology of China and an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Documentary and Non- Fiction Media Production from Seneca College. As a documentarian and researcher, she is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through storytelling. Her work focuses on challenging mainstream narratives and breaking down oppressive structures by giving a voice to those often unheard. Dorothy’s ongoing documentary project, No.14 Village, exemplifies her commitment to collaborative creation and equitable representation, striving to return the power of storytelling to the Chinese rural residents themselves.
