Zoya Islam
Zoya Islam is the Manager of Marketing and Communications at CERC Migration. In this role, she works closely with researchers to enhance the visibility and impact of their work, helping to expand the centre’s outreach and engagement with diverse audiences. With an extensive background in marketing and communications, Zoya draws on her expertise to ensure that research is effectively disseminated and accessible to broader audiences.
Zoya holds a Master’s in Gender Studies from Queen’s University, where her research focused on the transnational labour exploitation of racialized women garment workers. Her studies provided Zoya with a deep understanding of the systemic and structural issues that impact communities in Canada and around the world. Her experience as a researcher herself helps her to support CERC Migration scholars in sharing their work and advancing conversations on migration-related topics.
Outside of work, Zoya enjoys spending time with her three dogs, travelling, and exploring new terrains.
