Linda Adhiambo Oucho
Visiting Toronto Metropolitan University
Spring 2024
Research focus while a CERC Scholar
While visiting CERC Migration, Linda will explore the role of migration decision making experiences of Kenyan labour migrants focusing on the complex interplay of economic, social and political factors influence their choices. The study is part of the DYNAMIG (external link) project, a three-year Horizon 2020 funded project bringing together eight partners in Africa and Europe. This research will uncover the motivations for migration and the role of networks in informing migration decision making. It will also illustrate the link between the migrant experiences and policy processes (discussion, development and implementation). The research will expand on existing migration decision making theories and illustrate how these experiences can inform or shape policy processes.
