Lida (Jones) Ghahremanlou

Data Scientist Lead, Microsoft

Dr. Lida Ghahremanlou is an AI researcher and  Data Scientist lead at Microsoft Digital Studio. She completed her PhD degree in Computer Science from RMIT University 2014. Through her employment in IBM-research (2012-2016), Universities fellowships in the UK (2016-2018) and Microsoft (2018-current), she has worked closely with customers and partners on providing data science and machine learning solutions,  as well as supporting research institutes, NGOs and charities to empower AI for Accessibility and Responsible AI missions. In 2021, she won the Microsoft Ability Award for Community Services. 

 Lida moved back from Oxford to Melbourne with her husband in February 2022. In addition to her daily job at Microsoft, She has joined the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S) (external link) , the Industry Advisory Board for AI (external link)  and the STEM College of RMIT University, supporting industry leaders, scholars and teaching team since July 2023.

 Outside of computer science domain, Lida also has a passion for fiction writing and translation and has some publications in both English and Persian (Farsi).
