Dr. Mikyung Lee
Post Doctoral Fellow - Social Epidemiology
EducationPhD, Queen’s University; MSc, University of Manitoba ;BSc, Kyung Hee University
Mikyung’s expertise lies in quantitative intersectionality within social epidemiology, with a focus on health equity research. Her work integrates diverse social identities and associated systems of oppression to address health inequities faced by multiply marginalized populations. In her PhD dissertation, she examined eating pathology through an intersectional lens, challenging the traditional emphasis on binary gender and gender-stereotyped body ideals in both literature and clinical practice. Mikyung’s ultimate goal is to inform evidence-based public health policies and interventions that promote inclusive and equitable health outcomes.
