This event will be co-hosted by the International Association for China Planning (external link) (IACP) and the Toronto Metropolitan Centre for Immigration and Settlement (TMCIS), and co-sponsored by the Urban China Research Network (external link) (UCRN).
Description: This roundtable will examine key aspects of internal migration in China, including the socio-economic impacts of rural-to-urban migration, the hukou system and policy shifts, and the (im)mobility challenges faced by migrant families. It will also address topics such as housing inequality, social integration, and gender and intergenerational dynamics.
