About this event

Promoting anti-racism within STEM-based education is not only about justice in education, but holds potential to alter life-and-death outcomes for people world-wide. Following the “Preparing for Change: Talking About Race in the Classroom,” this hour and a half virtual workshop is designed to empower educators as they grow and refine their knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to build anti-racist principles into STEM classrooms and discussions from the ground up.

As educators, the workshop will help you to:

· Articulate for yourself and others, the importance of adopting an anti-racism perspective within STEM education

· Gain a deeper awareness of the nature of racial disparities within STEM education.

· Acquire strategies for using anti-racism in your course design and teaching

· Build and enhance your community of supports to keep the work going

Please note that some independent pre-work may be required to prepare for this workshop.
