Tech for Teaching Studio

The Tech for Teaching Studio is a small but flexible space at the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DCC 7th floor) that is uniquely designed to produce short-duration multimedia content and photography for use in teaching, such as:

  • Lightboard videos
  • Document recordings
  • Green screen videos
  • Podcasts

...and much more!

Let students know you are excited to work with them before they even step foot in the classroom.

If you are teaching a course in the fall, you are invited to participate in the Welcome Video Sprint, taking place August 20, 22, 27 and 29 in the Tech for Teaching Studio at the Centre For Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

A welcome video provides the opportunity not only to make students feel welcome and clarify your expectations, but can also initiate the process of building a learning community. For more about the benefits and best practices for creating welcome videos, watch this workshop recording (external link) .

To prepare for your session:

  1. Choose your setup: lightboard, black curtain backdrop, or green screen (see our  (google slide) virtual tour (external link)  for details)
  2. Write a short script using  (google doc) this template (external link)
