TMU Learning & Teaching Conference: May 16, 2024

Registration is now open for this year’s TMU Learning & Teaching Conference, set to occur on Thursday, May 16, 2024. This year’s theme is Technology and Teaching in an Age of Disruption.
This year’s conference will be an opportunity for the teaching community at TMU to come together to share knowledge and experience related to technology-enhanced teaching. Participants will be able to discuss the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead for teaching and learning.
The last few years have brought with them immense change. This will be at the forefront of the day-long in-person event, which will ask conference attendees to question how we can navigate through a rapidly changing teaching and learning landscape, to consider experimenting with bold new approaches to pedagogy, to reflect on how we can leverage the wealth of digital learning tools available to us, and to think about how we can make the most of our campus spaces to provide enriched learning experiences for students.
“This year's theme, 'Technology and Teaching in an Age of Disruption,' invites us to explore the transformative potential of digital tools in enhancing learning experiences, while also acknowledging the significant complexities these changes bring. In a moment when the landscape of higher education is once again being reshaped by both technological and global challenges, the conference provides our community with an opportunity to come together and dialogue about both the immediate impacts of technological disruption, and the longer term implications for ensuring that our teaching methods continue to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of students at TMU.”
Programming highlights include a keynote address by Dr. Bonnie Stewart, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, University of Windsor, a special Provost’s Plenary Session, spotlights on key CELT programs such as the Learning & Teaching Grants (LTGs) and Teaching Fellows, an Indigenous Circle, and a Service Spotlight.
