The Centre bids farewell to AIO Director, John-Paul Foxe

Long-time TMU community member and Director of the Academic Integrity Office (AIO), Dr. John Paul Foxe, will soon be leaving his position to pursue a new opportunity as Senior Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning at Concordia University.
Having joined TMU in 2010 as an Educational Developer in what was then called the Learning and Teaching Office, Foxe eventually became the Manager before taking on his current role as Director of the AIO.
Since beginning his journey at TMU, he has made a lasting impression on countless faculty, staff, students, and friends.
John Paul Foxe has been instrumental in developing and fostering a culture of academic integrity at Toronto Metropolitan University, having been a key player in the successful renewal of Senate Policy 60: Academic Integrity and upholding the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage.
“John Paul’s stewardship of the Academic Integrity office and its implementation of our Senate policy on academic integrity has been exemplary. He has led his team and the university with the highest standards of excellence and, of course, integrity. His contributions to positive change at TMU will have ongoing and lasting effects on our community for years to come."
Since stepping into the role of Director in the AIO, Foxe has led a highly knowledgeable and dedicated team of Academic Integrity professionals, and the development of innovative resources, such as “How to Avoid Plagiarism”, and “Gamified Approaches to Educating for Academic Integrity”, which have proven to be beneficial for both students and faculty alike. Altogether, under the leadership of John Paul Foxe, the AIO has proven themselves to be at the forefront of the academic integrity field in Ontario, Canada, and Internationally.
In 2020, he was presented with the Linda Grayson Administrative Leadership Award, for his work as Director, an award given to individuals at TMU who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing a project, activity or team to achieve outstanding results.
