Save the date: TMU Learning and Teaching Conference (May 20) and IT Conference (May 21-22)

January 20, 2025

To: All faculty and instructors and past attendees of the IT Conference

This year, TMU’s annual Learning and Teaching Conference and IT Conference are partnering to bring together faculty, staff and cross-university colleagues for both conferences. While separate events, faculty and staff are encouraged to plan to join us from May 20 to 22, 2025.

Innovating teaching, IT in teaching and IT solutions

Organizing the conferences together in the same week comes in recognition of the shared interests between TMU’s academic teaching and information technology communities. Our hope for this year’s conferences is to spark opportunities to enhance learning, teaching methods and overall student engagement.

A hybrid conference format

Conference sessions on May 20 and 21 will be held on TMU’s campus in-person, with select presentations available for virtual streaming. Conference attendees are encouraged to attend the kick-off keynote presentations of both conferences on each day. May 22 sessions for the IT Conference will take place virtually.

Networking opportunities and a lunch will complement presentations on both in-person days.

May 20: The one-day Learning and Teaching Conference will bring together the teaching community to reflect on our collaborative efforts in creating accessible, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. This event will provide a platform to share knowledge and experiences while exploring important questions about how we can continue to support students and faculty in an ever-evolving educational landscape.

May 21: Day one of the IT Conference, featuring sessions on new IT trends, products and services and innovative ways technology is being applied in the classroom and administrative projects and initiatives across campus.

May 22: Day two of the IT Conference will be offered virtually, providing attendees the flexibility to attend sessions as their schedules allow. Day two will include the conference’s dedicated cybersecurity track where attendees will learn about current and emerging cybersecurity threats from industry experts and IT professionals at the university.

Save the dates

Registration details will be shared in the coming weeks but in the meantime, please be sure to save the May 20 to 22 conference dates in your Google Calendar. Individual session titles, dates and times will be shared once finalized.
