About the Future Skills Centre
The Future Skills Centre (external link) – Centre des Compétences futures (FSC-CCF) is a forward-thinking centre for research and collaboration dedicated to driving innovation in skills development so that everyone in Canada can be prepared for the future of work. We partner with policymakers, researchers, practitioners, employers and labour, and post-secondary institutions to solve pressing labour market challenges and ensure that everyone can benefit from relevant lifelong learning opportunities.
We are founded by a consortium whose members are Toronto Metropolitan University, Blueprint, and The Conference Board of Canada, and are funded by the Government of Canada's Future Skills Program.
The Centre’s work focuses on solutions to help address the needs of equity-deserving groups, particularly those who are underserved, including women, youth, Indigenous people, newcomers, racialized people, people with disabilities, veterans, and people from rural, remote and Northern communities.
The Opportunity
This role provides strategic leadership in ensuring compliance across a portfolio of projects funded by the Future Skills Centre and executed by project partners throughout Canada.
It involves supervising the operations and compliance team members responsible for:
- Creating, amending and providing partner support for proponent funding agreements
- Review and analysis of financial reports
- Developing and implementing systems to meet business needs
- Facilitation of data and report collection, managing of record storage
- Supporting other project management functions as required
This role collaborates closely with the Operations Director to guide:
- The operational model
- Optimization of workload distribution and team morale
- Enhancement of overall workflow effectiveness
Qualifications
Specific training or job experience required before appointment includes:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Arts, Business , Engineering or related field;
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar administrative management role;
- Experience managing and supervising unionized staff and/or coordinating the work of others.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
