About the program/department/team

The TMU Engineering Recruitment Team is growing, and we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to help market TMU’s engineering programs on- and off-campus to prospective students, their families and supporters. This is a unique opportunity for recent TMU undergraduate Engineering degree graduates to help fulfil the University’s recruitment objectives. 

The opportunity

As an Engineering Liaison Officer, you are responsible for representing and effectively marketing TMU's engineering degree programs to attract qualified candidates to the programs. You will engage with prospective students, parents, teachers and counsellors at various on-campus and off-campus events including secondary school visits/presentations across the GTA, the Ontario Universities’ Fair, University Information nights, TMU Open Houses, the Engineering Expo, and education fairs. You will provide general guidance to prospective engineering students, parents, teachers and counsellors regarding the specific details of TMU’s engineering admissions standards based on the current policies and procedures. This role requires flexibility and travel, as it will involve working evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a TMU Bachelor of Engineering degree with at least two (2) years of experience in public speaking/public relations, advising about programs and procedures, and dealing with a variety of persons – preferably within a post-secondary environment.
  • Ability to maintain an exemplary level of professionalism and client service as you act as the liaison between TMU and the guidance community, prospective students, and their supporters.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to adapt to large and small audiences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of TMU’s academic programs, environment and identity.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and evenings as required.
  • Valid G Driver License in good standing.
