Submission Information
Poster presenters will be assigned a virtual poster board after they have registered for the conference. If you have not already registered, please visit: https://events.eply.com/csrs2021/.
As a poster presenter, you will be asked to upload the following to your virtual board:
Required: A pdf of your poster. Please ensure that you poster clearly outlines the following elements of your study: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion. Please scroll down for detailed visual instructions on how to upload your pdf poster.
Recommended: A Zoom link for a face-to-face discussion with conference attendees who would like to discuss your research. Of note, if you do not have access to a Zoom account, a live chat box will be available. If you would like to link your poster board to a Zoom meeting room, please send your Zoom link to csrs@torontomu.ca by April 28th, 2021.
Optional: A 3-minute pre-recorded video of your poster presentation. If you choose to include a pre-recorded video on your poster board, we recommend recording your talk using Zoom meeting software. Please be sure that: a) your face is visible, b) your background is not distracting, and c) that you follow the 3-minute time limit. If you choose this option, please send your video to csrs@torontomu.ca by April 28th, 2021.
If you choose to send the committee your Zoom link and/or a pre-recorded presentation, please ensure that you indicate your last name and session ID (i.e. LastName_Poster#) in the subject line.
To upload your poster:
As a Flash-Five presenter, you will be asked to pre-record your 5-minute presentation. Pre-recorded videos will be played by the conference organizers before the live Q&A period.

Instruction for your pre-recorded presentation:
- Create a 5-minute video recording of your presentation.
- We recommend recording your talk using Zoom meeting software, with your video on while sharing your slides.
- Please be sure that: a) your face is visible, b) your background is not distracting, and c) the video is well lit. Please ensure that you follow the 5-minute time limit.
- Your pre-recording must be emailed to the CSRS committee by April 28th 2021. Please send your recording to csrs@torontomu.ca with your last name and presentation type (i.e., LastName_Flash5) in the subject line.
- If you require assistance in creating your presentation, please contact us (csrs@torontomu.ca).
As a symposium presenter, you will be asked to pre-record your 15-minute presentation. Pre-recorded videos will be played by the conference organizers before the live Q&A period.

We are currently selecting abstracts that present COVID-19 relevant research for a special COVID-19 Symposium.
We also continue to accept abstracts that fall within the broader context of stress across the lifespan. Topics may including:
- Stress Biomarkers and Mechanisms
- Stress Interventions & Resilience
- Stress, Sex & Gender
- Stress Indigenous Health
- Stress & Discrimination
- Stress & Clincial outcomes
- Stress & Development
- Stress & Aging
Poster Presentations:
Poster presentations will officially begin on Day 1 of the conference, and will be available throughout the conference for continuous viewing and discussion.
Students presenting a poster are eligible to win a Poster Presentation Award.
Student Flash-5 Talks:
The CSRS Student Spotlight will take place on Day 3 of the conference. Flash-5 speakers will have 5 minutes to present their research, followed by a 5-minute Q&A period.
Students presenting a Flash-5 talk are eligible to win a Flash-5 Presentation Award.
Oral Presentations:
Attendees may have the opportunity to present an oral presentation as part of a 75-minute plenary symposium.
NOTE: Individuals can be non-presenting authors on multiple submissions. Speakers may only present in one symposium session.
To submit a poster abstract through the Abstract Submission Form, you will be asked to:
- Include the name of the presenting author and co-authors, and primary affiliation of the presenting author.
- Clearly indicate which of the seven topics the abstract is submitted to (you may choose multiple topics if relevant)
- Include a title (max 25 words)
- Include an abstract outlining the Background, Methods, Anticipated Results, and Conclusion (max. 250 words)
- Abstracts can be submitted in English or French
Student posters accepted for presentation will automatically be entered into the CSRS Best Poster Award competition.
Eligibility: The registered attendee is a Masters, Doctoral or Post-doctoral trainee in a Canadian University and is the presenting author.
Reviewers will determine the award recipient based on:
- Quality of the research demonstrated through the written abstract and presentation
- Aesthetic quality of the poster
- Presentation quality in front of a panel of judges
The recipient will be announced during the closing remarks and will be awarded a monetary prize ($250) and certificate of recognition.
Students who are presenting a Flash-5 abstract will automatically be entered into the CSRS Flash-5 Award competition.
