Current Social Issue Focus

This course offers students a deep dive into the sociological parameters of a current social issue, selected by the instructor. Through a variety of focused readings and case studies, speakers, media, and critical discussions, students will develop and share their own original, evidence-based analysis of the drivers, dynamics, and possible outcomes of the issue. Students will deepen their integration of theoretical, methodological, and ethical issues in social scientific research, and they will develop effective social change strategies.
