These are not scheduled courses. In order to pursue an independent study course, students must enlist the support of a faculty member as an advisor for the studying that will be undertaken. In consultation with the faculty member, the student must complete a proposal that gives a title to the course; states the objectives of the course and the literature to be covered; details the elements to be submitted for evaluation, their due dates, and the percent accorded to each element.
